Argonide Corp., a Sanford, Fla.-based company that manufactures water purification filters, recently announced the development of its NanoCeram-LR (NCLR) high-performance pleated filter cartridges specifically engineered and designed to replace lenticular filters. This pleated filter cartridge has a lower shipping weight per cartridge to help reduce shipping costs. And, since each NCLR holds less water, it eases the process of filter replacement for the operator, according to the company.
Each NanoCeram-LR filter cartridge contains Argonide’s patented non-woven filter media matrix infused with nanoalumina fibers, creating an electropositively-charged depth filter. When assembled into a pleated cartridge, NanoCeram offers a unique combination of efficiency, capacity, flowrate and low pressure drop at levels unmatched in today’s filtration marketplace.
NanoCeram is capable of removing small particles (including colloidal iron and TOCs), bacteria and virus from water at high flow rates, using the principal of electrostatic attraction and adsorption. The filter’s NASA-derived technology has received many awards including the 2005 Hall of Fame award from the Space Foundation.
